Earth Day Support from Singapore!
Support can take many shapes. Sometimes it looks like a seedling. Other times, it looks like a clothes swap held across the ocean.
This past April, Leticia Lee reached out with a simple message. She’s a student at the National University of Singapore and a volunteer at GreenCheck. Along with her friends, she was organizing a thrift event on campus in collaboration with Cloop, Fashion Revolution Singapore, and @yncfashionsociety. It would be their second time hosting the event for Earth Day, and this year, they wanted the impact to go further.
Leticia had heard about Grown in Haiti through Bea from GreenCheck. She reached out because she believed the event could do more than raise funds. It could also raise awareness about the work we are doing in Cap Rouge. In her message, she said, “Doing so means we can provide meaningful support to GIH’s programs and efforts, on top of raising awareness about GIH’s mission on campus.”
The event was a success. Through the swap and shop, they raised $406.87 for Grown in Haiti. That support goes directly toward what we do every day: sharing seeds and trees, training local farmers, and restoring land with care and intention.
Leticia’s kindness, and the collective energy of everyone involved, reminds us that regeneration is a shared story. The choices we make, no matter where we live, ripple outward.
To Leticia, to everyone at @yncfashionsociety, @fash_rev_sg, and every student who participated, thank you for believing in what we do.
